Lakers clean up Monarchs in back-to-back contests

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Kalispell Lakers made the most of their road trip, knocking off the Medicine Hat “AA” Moose Monarchs twice at Athletic Park on Thursday night.

The two matches were won by completely different means. It took the Lakers just five innings to secure a 10-0 victory in game one, but game two lasted an entire 12 innings before the Monarchs eventually bowed down 5-4.

According to the website Game Changer, the Monarch record is now 8-12 on the season.

But despite being four games below .500, Medicine Hat showed promise last weekend in Lethbridge, finishing runner-up in the Mary Oikawa Memorial Tournament.
