MEDICINE HAT, AB — MY96 is out in the community Thursday and Friday to ensure children and families using the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital are receiving top-notch care.

The MY Kids 30 Hour Radiothon started Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m. outside the Dunmore Road McDonald’s, and will continue until 10 a.m. on Friday.

As of 1 p.m., $4,800 had been raised for the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation.

“This has been a great partnership with MY96,” said Jolene McIvor, donor relations coordinator with the foundation. “This is our third year, and it just keeps getting better and better.”

The money this year is being put towards the Children’s Health and Developmental Services (CHADS) program at the hospital.

CHADS helps support families and children with physical and developmental disabilities.

“They not only help you with all of your concerns, but they make you feel like you’re a part of the family as well,” McIvor said. “We have such great feedback, and we definitely help so many families in our community, as well as Brooks.”

McIvor says the money raised will most likely get put towards new equipment or renovations to the CHADS interview room.

Donations can be made in person at the McDonald’s or online at my96fm.com. In addition, $1 from every large sandwich and 50 cents from every Happy Meal sold at the Dunmore Road McDonald’s during the radiothon will be donated to the cause.
