Youth bowlers help Team Alberta to podium finishes

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A pair of youth bowlers from Medicine Hat rolled their way to podium finishes at a national competition this past weekend.

Austyn Ducharme and Kaytlynn Insko were both members of Team Alberta at the Canadian Tenpin Federation Youth Championship in Kelowna, coming home with both team and individual medals.

Ducharme won the gold medal in the intermediate boys singles and the all-event category. Over the three-day event, Ducharme’s pin fall total was 4,337 for an average of 206.5. Ducharme also helped Team Alberta captured a bronze medal in the team portion.

Insko and Ducharme also won silver in the mixed intermediate category, while Insko won the individual bronze medal in the junior girl category. She finished the tournament with a total pin fall of 3,506 for an average of 167.
