Notre Dame student runs to top finish at track and field zones

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Hundreds of young track athletes from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and everywhere in between laid it all on the line in Medicine Hat on Tuesday.

The Southern Alberta Junior high track and field zones took over the Rotary Park at Crescent Heights High School. Although there were several strong performances among the athletes, one local student stood tall above the rest.

Elic Ayomanor, from Notre Dame Academy, took the top spot in the 100, 200 and 400 metre dash.

He finished his day with a first place ribbon in high jump as well.

Among schools competing, Raymond Junior high took home the 4-J banner, County Central High School out of Vulcan won the 3-J banner, Mountain View School are the 2-J champions and Gilbert Paterson Middle School finished as 1-J champions.
