MEDICINE HAT, AB – The bleeding continued for the Medicine Hat Sun Devils on Saturday, as they squared off against the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League’s top Junior B team in the Lethbridge Barracudas.

The Sun Devils found themselves in an early 3-0 hole in the first period, and trailed 7-0 at one point before scoring their first goal of the game courtesy of Gage Churla with just over three minutes left in the opening frame.

Three goals early in the second vaulted the Barracudas to a 10-1 lead, while Churla completed the hat-trick with seven minutes left in the period to close the gap to 10-3.

Lethbridge closed out the third period with four straight goals to roll to a 15-4 victory on the road.

Ethan Heidt and Cole Tait led the way offensively for Lethbridge with a hat-trick each, while Churla (3) and Damon Phillips found the back of the net for the host Sun Devils.

Dropping their fifth straight game, Medicine Hat sees their record fall to 3-7 on the season and have not won a game since April 30.

It’s a double-header next weekend at the Kinplex, as the Sun Devils host the Calgary Wranglers on Saturday and the Olds Mavericks on Sunday.
