Police identify man killed in highway collision on Sunday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Police Service has identified the man who was killed after being struck by a semi on the Trans-Canada Highway Sunday night.

Frank Lucas Sinnema, 53, was killed after being hit on the westbound Trans-Canada Highway near the Gershaw Drive overpass. Sinnema was from Calgary.

Police closed part of the highway for several hours as they investigated the collision.

The driver of the semi is not expected to face charges, police said. The investigation is ongoing, and police are considering all factors.
