EDMONTON — Edmonton Police have charged a man and a woman in connection with the death of a toddler who was discovered outside an Edmonton area church on Friday.

Global Edmonton reports Joey Crier and Tasha Mack have been charged with second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death and assault in connection with the death of Anthony Joseph Raine. The child was identified by a member of the family this weekend.

Crier and Mack were arrested and interviewed by police over the weekend. An autopsy was scheduled for today.

The relationship between the accused and the child is not known. Police believe the child’s body was left near the Good Shepherd Anglican Church on Tuesday morning, three days before his body was found.
