Construction underway on South Railway Street

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Drivers in downtown Medicine Hat may have noticed some detours in place during their Sunday commute.

Construction on South Railway Street officially got underway on Sunday, with Stage 1 work near 2nd Street getting going first.

Traffic is currently being rerouted through 3rd Street, as work is expected to continue at that intersection until late spring.

The next stage of construction will follow, with the entire project expected to be completed sometime in the fall.

On Monday, work is also slated to begin on the South Railway South Flats project, though there will be minimal impact to traffic to start.
