MEDICINE HAT, AB —Two Irvine residents have been arrested and charged with multiple weapons offences following a joint investigation between the Medicine Hat Police Service and Redcliff RCMP.
According to a news release, police and RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence in Irvine on April 13. Police seized 10 firearms, three of which were prohibited due to modified barrel length. In addition to the guns, police also seized four home-made silencers, prohibited magazines, bear spray, several boxes of ammunition, and 20 grams of marijuana.
Brandalyn Brandham, 31, and Denver Ailsby, 37, were both charged with unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, four counts of possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Ailsby was also charged with breach of probation and possession of firearms contrary to a court order.
Ailsby is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday and Brandham is scheduled to appear on May 9.
