RCMP investigating double homicide in Chipman

CHIPMAN, AB — Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a double homicide in the village of Chipman.

According to a news release, RCMP responded to a 911 report of suspicious deaths at a residence. Two adult men were located deceased in the home. One male suspect has been taken into custody. Charges have not yet been laid.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit are investigating, but do not believe it to be a random event and there is no further risk for public safety. The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and more information will be made available as soon as RCMP are able to.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday in Edmonton.

Chipman is located approximately 70 kilometres east of Edmonton.
