MEDICINE HAT, AB — After spending the better part of a week at with family due to health reasons, goaltender Nick Schneider has returned to the Medicine Hat Tigers ahead of the first round of the playoffs.

Schneider, who back-boned the Tigers in a large majority of games in the first half of the season, didn’t go into detail with why the trip home was necessary. But the 20-year-old from Leduc, AB says he’s excited to join his team’s efforts in a push for a WHL championship.

CHAT TV spoke to the veteran netminder on Thursday along with several of his teammates about what it means to rejoin the Tigers ahead of game one against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night.

In other news, the Tigers have announced the signing of 2000-born defenceman Trevor Longo to a Standard Player Agreement. The product of North Vancouver, BC was drafted by the Tigers in the 6th round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.

Longo brings sizable youth that’s sure to become a huge asset on the blue-line in the coming years. Standing 6’2″ at 192lbs, Longo has chalked up 37 points in 40 games playing for the Vancouver NW Giants of the BC Major Midget League. He’s also nabbed 50 penalty minutes this season.
