MEDICINE HAT, AB — Emergency first responders in Medicine Hat braved the wind, snow and the cold to participate in an event bringing awareness to post traumatic stress disorder.

Dozens of members of the Medicine Hat Police Service, Fire Service and EMS came out for the 22 push-up challenge.

They’re challenging other first responders in communities across Canada to do the same and help raise awareness about PTSD and the veterans and first responders who are dealing with the effects of the disorder.

The event was organized by singer Jessie Tylre Williams, she’s also putting on the third annual National PTSD Gala.

The 22 push-up challenge will be held in other cities on the tour including Winnipeg and Calgary.
