MEDICINE HAT, AB — The man arrested in Winnipeg for second-degree murder in the death of Jordan Pede is still in Manitoba.

Leonard Beaulieu was arrested in Winnipeg back on February 13th.

At the time, police said he’d be back in Alberta within six days, but Inspector Brent Secondiak said Beaulieu was wanted on outstanding drug charges in Manitoba.

He said police here are communicating with crown prosecutors to expedite the process to bring Beaulieu back to Medicine Hat.

“He did have these outstanding charges,” Secondiak said. “I don’t think he’ll do a sentence there for these charges, so again, it’s really between the Crown prosecutors and lawyers at this point. We hope to have him back in the city in the near future.”
