MEDICINE HAT, AB – Two journeymen apprentices who received their training at Medicine Hat College will showcase their skills on the world stage this fall.

Tanner Tendler, a heavy duty equipment journeyman from Medicine Hat , along with Justin Fisher, a journeyman plumber from Picture Butte successfully passed regional WorldSkills trials at the college this week, earning their spot on Team Canada for the WorldSkills Competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates,  in October.

The two journeymen each needed to meet or exceed the median score from competitors at the 2015 WorldSkills Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil to earn their spot on the team.

Tendler scored 90 per cent in the heavy equipment category, well above the 77 per cent average required. Fisher also scored higher than the average score in plumbing, earning an 89 per cent on his trials. The plumbing median score was 73 per cent.
