Taber fire department battles major structure fire

TABER, AB — The Taber Fire Department battled a major structure fire in Taber today.

The fire broke out in the 5800 block of 52 Avenue between 50 Avenue and 56 Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Barricades were erected around the area and the public was asked to stay away from the area as crews tend to the fire. 

The fire was under control by 7:30 p.m.

The building which caught fire was rented out to multiple tenants and has been completed destroyed. Fire crews were able to save the Frito-Lay building was was right beside. According to fire officials there were three people inside at the time of the fire. They all made it out and one was taken to hospital but has since been released.
